Festivals, shows, markets and bonfire night will make sure November goes with a bang for London foodies
With Christmas just around the corner, London really gets going in November, and foodies are spoilt for choice. There are variety of Bavarian themed events and festivals on offer at London’s Southbank and in Hyde Park. Or if celebrity chefs are more your thing you can hop over to the other side of London to visit a Taste of Christmas at Tobacco Dock in Wapping or visit the BBC Good Food Show at London Olympia.

The Real Street Food Festival on London’s Southbank

The Southbank’s famous weekly Real Food market moves onto the Queens Walk for The Real Street Food Festival. This years festival has over 30 different food stalls to choose from, accompanied by live music, a craft beer bar, wine and even a cocktail bar for good measure. All the food on sale is ethically produced and this really is the best street food you can find in London.

BBC Good Food Show at London Olympia

This years BBC Good Food Show sees hundreds of food exhibitors, a wine show and a Supertheatre featuring your favourite chefs cooking delicious seasonal recipes live on stage. There’s also a host of TV programmes represented such as the ‘Great British Bake Off’, ‘Saturday Kitchen’ and ‘MasterChef’ with an accompaniment of celebrity chefs with such as Michel Roux Jr and Lawrence Keogh. Now a permanent fixture on the London food map, the BBC Good Food Show is not to be missed.
Southbank Christmas Market

The Southbank’s Christmas Market brings a little slice of Bavaria to the Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival. Experience a traditional, beautifully lit, German style Christmas Market with over 80 authentically decorated wooden chalets filled with festive food, drink, gifts and treats run along the twinkling riverside. Enjoy mulled wine, bratwurst and gingerbread while taking in the lights, sights and sounds of London at Christmas time.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

For the seventh year running, Hyde Park Corner will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland from late November onwards. This years festival includes fairground rides, giant wheel, circus, Christmas market, food and drink stalls, Santa’s grotto and the now-mandatory ice rink. As with the Southbank’s Christmas Festival, Hyde Park will have a selection of traditional Bavarian wooden chalets, bars and cafes to help you get in the Christmas spirit.
